Lore
“It jiggles… and it hungers.”
Few magical accidents have caused as much cleanup as the day Apprentice Glimmerfluff attempted to create everlasting gummy worms.
In the kitchen-lab of the Grand Sugar Spire, Glimmerfluff—underqualified, overenthusiastic, and definitely unsupervised—spilled a full jar of polymorphic binding syrup into a cauldron of fruit-flavored gelatin. What was meant to be a chewy treat turned into a writhing, wobbling mass of sentient sweetness.
The cauldron burst. The gummy spilled.
And thus, the Gummy Ooze was born.
Unlike normal oozes, the Gummy Ooze doesn’t just digest—it absorbs anything it finds remotely tasty, from leftover licorice to unlucky boots. Over time, they’ve developed rudimentary instincts, often mimicking the color or scent of nearby candies to blend in. Entire pantry shelves have been “reclaimed” by a well-camouflaged Gummy Ooze just waiting for someone to reach too close.
They’re squishy, stretchy, nearly impossible to pierce, and surprisingly stealthy for creatures made almost entirely of sugar.
Fun Facts:
Gummy Oozes will split when struck hard—especially by blades, with the new oozes splitting the HP of the original ooze.
Some wild mages believe the Gummy Ooze learns the flavor of what it digests and stores that knowledge.
A legendary ooze known only as “The Chew” is said to be the size of a wagon and smells like sour cherry.
