Lore
Long ago, nestled in the sugar-dusted hills outside of Bunborough, stood a peculiar candy emporium known as Fizzlebottom’s Sweetworks. This wasn’t your average candy shop—it was a wizard-run confectionery, where enchanted treats were brewed in cauldrons, caramel was conjured with a flick of the wand, and enchanted pastries could sing or change your hair color.
Master Fizzlebottom, an eccentric gnome wizard with an insatiable sweet tooth and a flair for chaos, was especially proud of his Floating Marshmallows—light, fluffy delights that hovered above your cocoa mug and never melted too soon. To roast them just right, he summoned Fire Mephits to act as tiny chefs, hovering over the production lines with magical lighters for fingers.
But mephits, as one might imagine, are not known for their patience or precision. One day, in a fit of playful rebellion, a few of the fire mephits began dunking themselves into the marshmallow vats just to see what would happen.
To everyone’s surprise—especially Master Fizzlebottom’s—the combination of sugary fluff and elemental mischief transformed them. Their flames extinguished, their bodies puffed and warped into soft, sticky forms. They emerged giggling, leaving gooey footprints, and began launching marshmallow globs at each other like snowballs.
Thus, the Marshmallow Mephit was born—an accidental fusion of magic, mischief, and sugar.
Though Master Fizzlebottom was initially furious (“You’re not FDA-compliant!“), he eventually came to love his new squishy companions. However, some of them escaped into the world, drawn to warm places and sweet smells, spreading their sticky antics wherever they go.
