Lore
“Strong as stone, sweet as sin.”
In the golden age of dessertomancy—yes, dessert magic—there lived a reclusive culinary wizard named Ganache the Gooey, famed across the land for creating delicious, sentient desserts that could dance, sing, and help around the kitchen.
But Ganache had a problem: everyone wanted his treats, but no one respected the art behind them. So he began experimenting with ways to guard his confectionery wonders from thieving hands and greedy tongues.
His solution?
To mix cursed cacao, melted from enchanted beans found only in the molten caverns of Choco-Forge, with powdered dragonbone and magical sugar-glue. From his bubbling vats rose the first ever Chocolate Golem—a towering, hulking mass of bittersweet muscle, bound to obey his will and protect the bakery at all costs.
Though loyal, the golem had a tragic flaw: temperature sensitivity. On hot days, it would begin to melt, leaving sticky footprints and dripping fudge everywhere it went. In the winter, it would become stiff and brittle, snapping off bits of its armor when walking. Ganache tried adjusting the recipe dozens of times, but the results were always deliciously disappointing.
Eventually, as with all good legends, Ganache disappeared—some say swallowed by his own molten fondue experiment—but the Chocolate Golems remain. Now they wander the land, especially during spring festivals, drawn to sugar-saturated places and large gatherings where magic lingers in the air.
